Job Title: Mid-Level Front-End Web Developer

Work Set-up: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Mid-Level Front-End Web Developer to join our engineering team. Unlike a junior role, you will be expected to own features end-to-end, from technical design to final deployment. You are no longer just "learning the ropes"; you are a practitioner who writes performant, accessible, and scalable code with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem and is passionate about user experience (UX). You will bridge the gap between design and the back-end, ensuring that our applications are not only functional but also highly optimized for speed and usability. You will also begin to take on mentorship responsibilities, helping guide junior developers through code reviews and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Feature Ownership: Independently architect and develop complex user interface features using modern frameworks (e.g., Nextjs, React 19+, Vue 3.x, or Angular).
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implementing techniques like lazy loading, code splitting, and efficient state management to ensure sub-second rendering.
• Advanced Styling: Implement responsive layouts using CSS Grid, Flexbox, modern preprocessors (SASS/SCSS) or CSS-in-JS (Tailwind, Styled Components).
• State Management: Design and maintain complex application states using libraries such as Redux Toolkit, Pinia, or Zustand, ensuring data consistency across the UI.
• API Integration: Lead the integration of RESTful APIs, handling complex data transformations and error-handling states gracefully.
• Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews for junior team members, ensuring adherence to solid principles and maintainable patterns.
• Testing: Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests (e.g., using Jest, Vitest, or Cypress) to ensure feature stability.
• AI Collaboration: Effectively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate workflow while maintaining high code integrity.
• Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain a shared component library to ensure visual consistency across multiple projects.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: *3 years+ of professional experience in front-end web development.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating complex web applications (not just landing pages).

Technical Skills (Required):

• Expert Proficiency: HTML5, CSS3 (Advanced), and Modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Framework Mastery: Strong professional experience with at least one major framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
• TypeScript: Solid experience writing type-safe code to reduce runtime errors.
• Tooling: Proficiency with modern build tools (Vite, Webpack) and Version Control (Advanced Git: branching, merging, rebasing).

Essential Soft Skills:

• Autonomy: Ability to take a vague requirement and turn it into a technical task.
• Constructive Reviewer: Capable of giving and receiving technical feedback with a growth mindset.
• Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills using browser DevTools and performance profilers.

Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Skills):

• Experience with other PHP frameworks (e.g., Symfony, CodeIgniter) or other back-end languages (e.g., Python, Node.js), and modern JavaScript framework/library (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Practical knowledge of front-end concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Full-Stack Curiosity: Practical knowledge with PHP/Laravel (our back-end stack) to better coordinate with back-end engineers.
• Accessibility: Knowledge of WCAG standards and building inclusive interfaces.
• Mobile-First: Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA) or mobile-responsive optimization.
• Government Projects: Experience with local or national government web standards.
