The Role

We need a hands-on Google Ads and SEO manager to both optimize our current high-performing Performance Max (PMax) campaigns and build a strong organic search foundation. This role is a 50/50 split between managing/expanding our Google Ads presence and executing strategic SEO initiatives. You will be responsible for maintaining our paid performance while driving sustainable organic growth, ensuring both channels work synergistically.

Key Responsibilities (50/50 Split)

Google Ads Management (2-3 hours/week):

  • Take ownership of our existing Performance Max (PMax) campaigns, conducting weekly optimizations, analyzing audience signals, and testing new asset variations.
  • Research and develop strategic tests to expand into standard Search and Shopping campaigns where appropriate, based on performance data.
  • Manage campaign budgets, bids, and targeting to maximize ROAS and efficient spend.
  • Conduct ongoing keyword and competitor research within the sleep/wellness niche.
  • Track and report on core metrics (Conversion Value, ROAS, CPA) with clear insights.

SEO Management (2-3 hours/week):

  • Perform technical SEO audits and fixes using Google Search Console (focus on indexing, core web vitals, mobile usability).
  • Optimize existing site content (key blog posts, category pages, product reviews) for target keywords—focusing on title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, and internal linking.
  • Conduct keyword research to build a pipeline of new, high-opportunity content topics.
  • Implement an ongoing, scalable backlink outreach strategy to build domain authority from relevant health and wellness sites.
  • Monitor organic rankings and traffic trends, reporting on key wins and opportunities.

Who You Are (Requirements)

  • Proven Dual-Channel Experience: 2-3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Ads (specifically Performance Max campaigns) AND executing technical/on-page SEO strategies. A portfolio or case study showing impact in both areas is ideal.
  • Platform Expertise: Advanced skills in Google Ads (PMax, Search, Shopping), Google Analytics 4, and Google Search Console. Proficiency with an SEO tool (Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz) is required.
  • Analytical & Strategic: You balance data-driven optimization with creative testing. You can pivot between managing automated campaigns (PMax) and executing precise, manual SEO work.
  • Efficient & Independent: You thrive in a part-time, remote structure and know how to prioritize the highest-impact tasks within a 5-7 hour weekly scope.
  • Clear Communicator: You provide succinct, insightful weekly updates and can explain performance in business terms.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in the health, wellness, or affiliate/content site space.
  • Familiarity with Shopify CMS.
  • Basic knowledge of content marketing principles.
