The Quality Control and Development Officer is responsible for opening new pharmacy branches, establishing and maintaining operational standards across all locations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing quality improvement initiatives throughout the pharmacy chain.

 

Key Responsibilities

Branch Development and Opening

  • Lead the planning and execution of new pharmacy branch openings
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for potential locations
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and vendors for facility setup
  • Oversee equipment procurement, installation, and testing for new branches
  • Develop opening timelines and ensure all milestones are met
  • Obtain necessary licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals for new locations


Standards Development and Implementation

  • Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all pharmacy operations
  • Establish quality benchmarks and performance metrics across all branches
  • Develop training programs and materials for staff at all levels
  • Implement standardized workflows to ensure consistency across locations
  • Design quality control checklists and audit tools


Compliance and Regulatory Management

  • Ensure all branches comply with FDA regulations and local pharmacy laws
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections of all locations
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols and pharmaceutical handling standards
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and investigations
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all compliance requirements


Quality Assurance and Improvement

  • Perform quality audits to assess operational standards at each branch
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop corrective action plans
  • Investigate customer complaints and medication errors
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives based on audit findings
  • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare quality reports for management


Training and Support

  • Train branch managers and staff on operational standards and procedures
  • Provide ongoing support to existing branches on quality and compliance issues
  • Conduct orientation programs for new branch staff
  • Develop and deliver continuing education programs


Project Management

  • Manage multiple branch opening projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, HR, and finance
  • Monitor budgets and timelines for development projects
  • Prepare progress reports and presentations for senior management
