The Aluminum Production Worker is responsible for performing various tasks in the aluminum manufacturing process, from smelting and casting to extrusion, finishing, and quality control. This position involves operating machinery, monitoring production lines, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety protocols. The worker will contribute to the efficient production of aluminum products such as sheets, coils, extrusions, or castings while maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety.


Machinery Operation:

  • Operate machines used in aluminum production, including casting machines, extrusion presses, rolling mills, and furnaces.
  • Set up and adjust equipment to ensure that production is running smoothly and according to specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters (e.g., temperature, speed, pressure) to maintain product quality.


Material Handling and Production:

  • Transport and load raw materials (e.g., aluminum ingots or billets) into machines for casting, extrusion, or other processes.
  • Work with molten aluminum in the casting process, ensuring proper pouring and cooling.
  • Perform basic metalworking tasks such as cutting, bending, or shaping aluminum to required specifications.


Quality Control and Inspection:

  • Inspect aluminum products for defects, inconsistencies, and dimensional accuracy using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform visual and tactile inspections to check for issues like cracks, oxidation, or surface blemishes.
  • Ensure products meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Record inspection results and report discrepancies to supervisors for corrective action.


Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions or production issues.
  • Report major issues or breakdowns to the maintenance team or supervisors.


Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate PPE (e.g., heat-resistant gloves, face shields, steel-toed boots) and following safety protocols.
  • Work in a safe manner, ensuring that work areas are free of hazards and well-organized.
  • Be aware of the risks associated with molten aluminum and implement proper safety measures to prevent accidents.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards, including OSHA and environmental regulations.


Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other production workers, supervisors, and quality control teams to ensure that production goals are met.
  • Communicate effectively regarding production issues, quality concerns, or delays.
  • Assist in training new employees or providing guidance on best practices when needed.


Record-Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of production quantities, machine settings, maintenance logs, and quality control checks.
  • Report production data to supervisors, including any anomalies or areas of concern that may affect output or quality.


Environmental and Sustainability Practices:

  • Support the recycling of aluminum and waste materials in accordance with environmental guidelines.
  • Work toward reducing energy consumption, waste, and emissions during production processes.

Requisito

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or production processes is preferred.


Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in metalworking, casting, extrusion, or similar fields.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery or industrial equipment is a plus.


Skills:

  • Familiarity with machinery used in aluminum production (e.g., furnaces, extruders, presses).
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect products for accuracy.
  • Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.


Certifications (Optional):

  • Welding certifications (e.g., TIG/MIG for aluminum).
  • Forklift operation certification.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA).
