The Product Specialist – NBA serves as a brand expert, customer advisor, and in-store experience leader, responsible for connecting fans with the products, stories, and culture of the NBA. This role combines specialized product knowledge, premium customer service, and fan engagement to deliver an elevated shopping experience that reflects the passion, energy, and authenticity of the NBA brand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as an NBA merchandise authority, providing informed recommendations on jerseys, footwear, apparel, accessories, and lifestyle items.
  • Translate technical product features into clear benefits for customers (fit, performance, cushioning, material innovations).
  • Offer tailored guidance based on customer preferences, team loyalty, and playstyle.
  • Deliver world-class customer service that mirrors the NBA’s values of excitement, respect, and community.
  • Assist customers across the entire buying journey—from discovery to fitting to checkout.
  • Build loyalty by creating memorable experiences, acknowledging fan passions, and offering personalized suggestions.
  • Act as an on-floor NBA ambassador, sharing knowledge about league events, players, team history, and the stories behind product collections.
  • Provide curated “Fan Fit” or “Game-Day Look” styling recommendations.
  • Uphold NBA brand standards in all customer interactions and store engagements.
  • Maintain a premium store environment, ensuring displays, mannequins, and product zones meet brand guidelines.
  • Support product launches, seasonal displays, and promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure stock availability through proper replenishment and product organization.
  • Lead or assist with mini-events, such as trivia challenges, jersey personalization guidance, and product demos.
  • Contribute creative ideas for increasing fan interaction and store excitement.
  • Capture insights on customer preferences and share feedback with management.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets through authentic customer connection and expert product guidance.
  • Track top-selling items, customer requests, and emerging trends to support data-driven decisions.
  • Participate in inventory checks, product counts, and basic sales reporting.
