Role Overview:

The Onelink Passenger Assistant (OPA) plays a frontline role in the operation of the OneLink AFCS (Automated Fare Collection System) onboard partner buses. This is not a traditional conductor role — OPAs support the real-time use and monitoring of our tap-on/tap-off fare system, including features for baggage fares, inspector reporting, and full BIR-compliant transaction summaries (Z-Read/X-Read reporting).

As an OPA, you’ll help ensure seamless fare validation, accurate system syncing, proper card handling, and field-level diagnostics. You will also guide passengers and operators in using the system properly and document any system behaviours for back-office review.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the onboard OneLink validator, or support the client’s conductor in its use, ensuring the device remains online, properly synced, and fully operational throughout the shift.
• Assist passengers & conductors with tap-on and tap-off validation, particularly those unfamiliar with the system.
• Support passengers & conductors with semi-cashless transactions, including card purchases and top-ups conducted onboard.
• Ensure accurate fare computation, including distance-based fares, baggage charges, and any top-up or card sale transactions.
• Log and report inspector-initiated actions, fare overrides, and other non-standard transactions in your automated EOD Daily Reporting form.
• Complete and submit Z-read and X-read summaries daily, and conduct a full end-of-day stocktake of unsold cards and cash collected. All items must be handed over to the client at the end of each shift, with handover details recorded in the automated Handover Report form.
• Identify and report any technical issues immediately to the assigned Analyst or Implementations Manager as per protocol - such as device malfunctions, sync failures, or GPS/fare discrepancies.
• Follow instructions of dispatchers and the assigned OneLink Analyst to ensure accurate operations and reporting.
• Maintain a manual log of anomalies, missed taps, or fallback procedures where automated validation is unavailable.
• Deliver clear, courteous assistance to passengers and maintain a professional presence onboard.
• Ensure accuracy in manual logs, fare summaries, and stock handling to support daily compliance and reconciliation by the Analyst.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Willing to RELOCATE
• Senior High school to at least second year level.
• Must pass the TWO WEEK TRAINING PERIOD.
• Able to work long shifts.
• Computer literacy is an advantage.
• Experience in public transport operations or fare systems (e.g., as a conductor or ticketing assistant) preferred.
• Comfortable with mobile devices and digital systems (Android-based validators, sync functions).
• Proactive in spotting discrepancies and following standard operating procedures.
• Fluent in Tagalog, English & other dialects (Ilokano, Bisaya, Kapampangan).
• Professional, honest, punctual, and reliable.
• Physically and mentally ready to operate in a field-based, mobile setting.
• Attention to detail, especially with fare audit data and system reports.
