The Role


You will act as a business enabler to a specific global executive function or program, in order to consult, design, then rollout - with the stakeholder(s) - outcomes based strategic communications and planning, ensuring what is rolled out aligns with the vision, mission and strategic priorities.


We will rely on you to:


  • Work with relevant stakeholders to develop a clear plan for all related comms requirements, ensuring that comms are driven (as appropriate) to global channels.
  • Strictly reduce duplication and customisation of programs, initiatives and messages. Influence stakeholder to think One AMS.
  • Manage the scheduling of communications for your areas, acting as “air traffic control” to avoid overloading our people and comms having to compete for our people’s attention.
  • Provide creative and innovative ideas to relevant stakeholders on how communication can be executed in an engaging way, fully utilising all of our available comms channels.
  • Review, edit, and facilitate approval of all comms in associated area.
  • Become an expert in our AMS internal communications channels such as QBR’s, functional cascades, MyAMS, Viva Engage, Managers Cheat Sheets, and the Digest etc in order to advise stakeholders on when and how to use these appropriately, facilitate the addition of content, and include these in relevant comms plans
  • Become a subject matter expert and point of contact for Appreciate - supporting the embedding of our global recognition platform in AMS.
  • Actively contribute to the Strategic Internal Comms, Change and Cultural Experience Team discussion and collaboration, share insights from your area with your peers, furnish them with information to add value, and proactively seek out best practice approach from other strategic communication business partners supporting other functions. This supports the overall objective to ensure wherever possible a uniform and consistent approach to comms and engagement across all areas of the business.
  • Proactively drive engagement with the Every Voice Matters employee engagement survey, AMS Appreciate, our global recognition platform and other global initiatives.
  • Act an ambassador for the AMS culture, ways of working, values and brand.


What you need to have to be successful:


  • Experience working with a variety of internal communications channels (particularly global).
  • Experience creating multi-channel comms plans with a corporate strategic and an employee focus and engaging narrative.
  • Competent at using Microsoft Teams (Teams Townhalls in particular), intranet and website frameworks, email-marketing tools, PowerPoint and Word – in particular, being confident in creating clear, engaging, and company brand compliant campaigns, and presentations is important.
  • Confident at liaising with stakeholders of all different levels – including Senior Leaders.
  • Excellent command of the English language in both written and verbal communications.
  • Organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities well.
  • A strategic and solution orientated approach – working with stakeholders, challenges, changing circumstances with agility, positivity and proactivity.
  • Experience with building quality working relationships with a variety of different stakeholders.
  • Confident in influencing and challenging stakeholders in a constructive manner to deliver the optimal comms output.
  • Global mindset – an appreciation and sensitivity for cultural / regional distinctions and therefore a consideration of how to ensure communications are received well by all recipients.
  • Creative and innovative thinking, an enjoyment of thinking outside of the box to excite and engage our people.
