Validate and monitor project and departmental costs, ensuring they are accurately recorded and aligned with approved budgets
Reconcile project costs with the general ledger and coordinate with AP for proper coding and documentation
Support Finance in understanding cost variances and composition by providing logical explanations and breakdowns
Ensure cost entries reflect the correct accounting treatment and flow properly through the financial statements
Assist in cost allocation and estimation for shared resources (e.g., labor, equipment) when needed
Work with engineers, project managers, and the accounting team to resolve cost-related queries, clarify scope vs. actual and ensure timely posting
Prepare regular reports on budget utilization and assist in cost tracking across active projects and departments

Holds a degree in Accountancy
Has 2–3 years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or general accounting
Understands how cost transactions flow into the books and impact the income statement and balance sheet
Solid communication and coordination abilities—especially in following up, escalating, and resolving issues
Is comfortable reconciling actuals vs. budgets and identifying reasons for variances
Has strong attention to detail and has a problem-solver’s mindset—someone who doesn’t just do, but thinks
Familiarity with SAP Business One or similar ERP systems is a plus
Willingness to contribute beyond core duties, especially during peak periods or special projects
