Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager with a strong background in the retail industry. This position involves overseeing key human resources functions such as recruitment, employee relations, training, payroll, compliance, and performance management. The role is instrumental in driving the company’s success by developing and executing HR strategies that align with business objectives, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, and ensuring a stable and productive workforce.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent for retail stores, warehouses, and corporate offices.
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess manpower needs and ensure timely hiring.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to integrate new hires effectively.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Handle employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Foster a positive work environment through engagement activities, open communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence.

Performance Management & Training

  • Implement and oversee performance appraisal systems to evaluate and enhance employee productivity.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programs for retail staff, store managers, and other employees.
  • Support leadership development initiatives and succession planning.
  • Compensation & Benefits Administration
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, leave policies, and incentives.
  • Benchmark salaries and benefits to ensure competitiveness in the retail industry.

Compliance & HR Policies

  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, retail industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation for audits and compliance.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures as per business and legal requirements.
  • Store & Field HR Support.
  • Work closely with the Sales Teams to address HR-related issues at store locations.
  • Manage turnover rates by implementing retention strategies tailored to retail employees.

HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Utilize HR metrics and reports to track hiring, turnover, employee engagement, and performance trends.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on HR data to support business decisions.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s or MBA is an advantage).
  • HR Certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a retail or fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-company multi-location retail setting and manage multiple HR functions.
  • Ability to coach, train, and motivate the department and cross functional teams
  • Experience in managing relationships with banks, government agencies and business partners
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment with varying store policies across department store chains.
  • Leads in the discussion of business process and change management.
