With prices of medicines in the country now being regarded as one of the highest in South East Asia, the situation has been worsened by the extravagant pricing of specialty preparations such as those of cardiovascular drugs, anti-hypertensives, anti-asthmatics, anti-biotics and the like. One dominating factor has been the unreasonable practice of other companies’ consideration of high prices among their list of top priorities. Deeply concerned in resolving the situation with respect to the governments call for the Philippines economic resurgence by the year 2000 and beyond, a group of investors, in the latter part of 1994, decided to form a company guided by these ideals.
